Sam DeRocco

Overview And Experience

Sam DeRocco’s practice focuses on business litigation, personal injury, as well as civil and criminal defense. Sam serves as the Solicitor-General of Jenkins County and several municipalities throughout southeast Georgia.

He previously served as staff attorney for the judges of the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit and as a judicial clerk for several judges in other Georgia courts. While clerking at the Houston County State Court, Sam advised the Honorable Jason E. Ashford throughout all stages of a pharmaceutical liability case resulting in one of the highest jury verdicts in the Court’s history, which was affirmed on appeal, and is featured nationally in various legal and medical articles. See Pope v. Akorn, Inc., A18A1261 (Ga. App. 2018).  Sam graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, with dual specialization certificates in Trial Advocacy and Transactional Law. He graduated from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2017 with a Juris Doctor degree.  He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Georgia, all Georgia trial courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court.  His experience at all levels of simple and complex litigation allows him to provide clients with a comprehensive approach to their case, evaluate and develop an appropriate litigation strategy, negotiate a resolution of the dispute if possible; and try the case if an agreeable resolution cannot be reached.
